Bugs!

 Hello everyone! It’s Room 1 here, telling you about our AMAZING bug posters! We had to choose an insect and make an OUTSTANDING poster about the insect we chose. As you can tell, the topic for the term is Preservation and Conservation. We are looking into BUGS. We made posters about wasps, ladybugs, butterflies and much more! We were learning about making eye catching borders. Right now we are learning about putting actual images from google as our background! Not just solid colours or graidents,We mean ACTUAL Images that have flowers or bees or other stuff on them. Hope you look at our COOL blogs to see all of our BEAUTIFUL bug posters! See ya!

Animations

 For Cybersmart we got to do free animation making. We made different variations of animations and we learnt how to speed up animations to make it flow better. We needed to publish our code to the web, then somewhere in our code we could change the slide changing time from seconds, to milliseconds. Also we learnt how to duplicate slides, along with cropping images. We have chosen the top 5 animations to put on this blog post.

Private vs Public information

We are learning about private and public information. You can not put your phone number, address or other private information on your blog or anywhere on the internet.

We enjoyed making this poster and moving the pictures to the correct places.

Have you ever accidentally posted something private to your blog? What was it and did you delete it?

All about me

We are learning how to make photos smaller, cropping, inserting images and adding colour to boxes. 

We enjoyed writing the words on it. We also enjoyed inserting images.

Do you know a saying to help you remember how to make a picture smaller? We say, "Make it smaller from the corner."

Our identity

We have been learning about our identity and where we are from. We have also been learning how to make a collage in Google Draw. We had to layer the different shapes and find textured colours to make the different parts stand out.

A room full of friends

We are learning the different features on Google Slides. We can change the background, add 'Cool Text'  graphics, add photos and GIFS, and change our writing font, colour and size.

We enjoyed writing the facts about our selves and learning about our friends in the classroom.

Our alphabet books

Room 1 has an optional homework task. This task is an alphabet book. Each week the children work on a letter of the alphabet, pick a topic, do some research and present their findings in creative ways. I (Miss Haerewa) have enjoyed reading letters 'A' and 'B' so far. I have learnt a lot about new topics and I can see what some of the children in Room 1 are interested in. Keep up the amazing work Room 1!

How to make a good blog post

We have been learning about what makes a good blog post. To show our learning we made a Google Drawing listing the 6 things you should have in a blog post.

We all learnt something new and focused on what questions we could ask the audience so they will reply with more then a yes or no.

Do you enjoy sharing your learning on your blog? Do you do all the 6 steps and which one do you find the most difficult?

We find asking questions the most difficult because we want to know lots about our viewers!
